My second photo shoot was with Juanita, a good friend of mine who's part Guatemalan and Mayan Indian. She's a bio-molecular engineer, and has very little modeling experience. The background for this shoot is the Japanese gardens at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, which, although muggy and hot and full of insects, were a relatively controlled environment. The greatest danger was slipping off a rock and falling into the scummy water. I'm really happy with the way this shoot turned out, although I could have paid a bit more attention to light and lowered the ISO. I also realize how much I've learned since my last shoot, and resolve to make the next one better yet. Thanks to my beautiful model for putting up with the bugs and being a good sport about the whole thing!
